We did it….!

5k Walk with Purpose - raising funds for a mission trip to Ghana in October 2025

We are a non - profit community group who bring women together for a purpose. We are doing a sponsored 5k walk to raise funds towards our mission trip to Ghana in October 2025. The walk will be at the Olympic Park Stratford on Saturday 30 August.

We taking a small team of women on this mission trip in memory of our dear sister, friend and dedicated team member, Nora Owusu, who passed away in 2021.

Nora’s heartfelt desire was to bring Women of Purpose to her home country of Ghana on mission, and we had been planning towards it before her passing. We want to fulfil her wishes and continue the work she was so passionate about.

What will we be doing in Ghana?

Visit our Compassion UK Sponsored Child

In Nora’s memory, and to continue her legacy of love, care and service, in March 2022 Women of Purpose started sponsoring a young girl in Ghana called Maame. We have been sponsoring Maame through an organisation called Compassion UK. As part of our mission trip we will be visiting Maame and her family members in the village.

Outreach Conference and Workshops

Conference and workshops to encourage, equip and empower women, which will be hosted in a local church in Adenta. The team will also be running workshops for young adults in Accra who are on the Mothers, Daughters, Sisters (MDS) mentoring program founded by Audrey Bampoe (one of our team members).

Practical Support

We would like to provide supplies and resources for the mentoring programme, for Maame and her family, and donations and materials to a local charity called Pen to Paper based in Kumasi.

Why sponsor us?

We need your help to cover key expenses related to this mission trip. Your donation will go towards, supplies, resources, team transportation costs while in Ghana, equipment and materials for the Pen to Paper charity. There are also additional costs associated to visit our sponsored child, including transportation to the remote village, interpreter costs, compassion administration fee etc...
