We are Alejandra, Bianca, and Katie. We are women of color in the aviation field and want to pave a way of making a positive and tangible difference in the lives of identifying Women of Color Aviators.
This is such a relevant and important issue because female pilots are already a minority in the aviation industry- only 6% of pilots are women. And what about women aviators of color? There isn't even a statistic for us!
Rather than wait for change we decided to take action ourselves. So we created this scholarship opportunity for Women of Color in Aviation!
THE NUMBERS- For those who aren't familiar with the costs of aviation- in Los Angeles alone, the cost to rent a plane is $160 per hour. This does not include the instructor fees.
Female pilots make up less than 6% of the aviation world. Unfortunately, there are no stats for women of color in aviation. Together we can take the initiative to change that. Thank you so much for your time and support, we can't do this without you!
