The Organizer
The Middle East Images Foundation focuses on providing educational opportunities for budding journalists as a means of fostering and cultivating the visual-storytelling fields of photography and independent journalism. We bridge international access to publishing resources for photographers residing in conflict-torn areas which normally lack access to these opportunities.
Since the start of the revolution in Iran in Sep. 2022, the Middle East Images Foundation has acted as a critical platform for amplifying the voices and perspectives of the Iranian protestors to the world. Through its network of photographers and journalists, the Foundation has been able to document the protests and share these images and stories with a global audience.
Our photographers’ works have been featured on the covers of prominent magazines such as L'obs, Le Point, the New York Times, and The Economist, and have been published in prominent news outlets such as Time, NY Times, Word Press, Guardian, AP, CNN, Vice, and others.
Our Goal
The exhibition tour aims to raise awareness and visibility on the #WomanLifeFreedom movement, and crimes against humanity happening in Iran through the lens of firsthand documenters.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for a gallery exhibition tour to be held in the prestigious galleries of 7 major cities in the Unites States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, and Washington D.C.
The exhibition features the breathtaking and inspiring photos of our courageous and talented photojournalists who have risked their lives to bring these powerful images of the ongoing revolution in Iran to the world.
The exhibition aims to bring visibility and dialogue to the #WomanLifeFreedom movement in Iran and the human rights issues people are facing and to raise awareness about the powerful role of women in the movement.
The “Woman, Life, Freedom" Exhibition Tour
The "Woman, Life, Freedom" exhibition tour is not just a mere collection of photographs. It is an emotional journey that delves deep into the heart of the Iranian revolution, paying tribute to the unrelenting spirit of the Iranian people, and celebrating the transformative power of art and photojournalism.
Our brave citizen journalists have captured the raw essence of the revolution, narrating a story of hope, courage, and determination in the face of oppression, and we believe their stories should be heard by the world. This exhibition serves as a testimony to the strength and resilience of the Iranian people and their unwavering commitment to building a better future for themselves and their country. It is a celebration of the human spirit that thrives even in the darkest of times, a reminder that even in the face of oppression, hope and the desire for change can still flourish.
The "Woman, Life, Freedom" exhibition tour will start on April 4th, 2023, at the Hamzianpour & Kia Gallery in Los Angeles, selected for its unwavering dedication to promoting social justice and showcasing the transformative power of art.
The opening reception on April 4th will be featuring keynote speakers, artists, singers, and celebrities who will help raise awareness about the ongoing revolution in Iran and the crucial importance of supporting the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.
Moreover, the exhibition features engaging discussions and talks that offer a more in-depth understanding of the current situation in Iran. Visitors will have the chance to interact with experts and activists, learning about the challenges facing women in Iran and the vital role they play in the ongoing fight for freedom and equality. Admission to the reception is free, but we welcome donations to support the exhibition tour and the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.
We need your support to cover the costs of venue rentals, insurance, transportation, marketing, and receptions. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping us to bring the exhibitions to life and raise awareness about the ongoing revolution in Iran and the human rights issues that the Iranian people are facing.
By donating to our GoFundMe campaign, you are not only supporting the exhibition tour, but you are also supporting our brave photojournalists and their fight for freedom and equality. You are giving them a platform to share their stories and experiences, and you are giving a voice to those who are often silenced.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
The Middle East Images Foundation Team
