Hi, we are Barb and Jacquie. We have been supporting Lynn [a pseudonym ] and her two small children. Lynn left her abusive ex-partner about two years ago. Lynn left when her ex-partner was jailed for serious physical violence against her. He had also hurt her very small children.

While the ex-partner was in jail Lynn and her children settled into housing provided by London Housing. They had a brief period of peace, until the ex-partner was released from jail. Upon his release, he began stalking Lynn. He stalked her electronically and physically. Lynn reported the stalking to police and her ex-partner was again sentenced to jail for breaching the no-contact provisions of his parole. This time his sentence was shorter and he is due to be released before long.

He knows where Lynn lives and he has demonstrated a complete disregard for any legal restraints placed on him that would prevent him from contacting Lynn. Lynn is terrified about what will happen when he is released.

Because of the extremely high risk nature of the situation, London Housing has approved a transfer for Lynn and her children. Jacquie and I are planning to help Lynn and her children move into a shelter while she waits for an opening in a new location with London Housing. This will avoid her abusive ex-partner from following her from her current location to her new location.

We are trying to raise funds to cover the cost of moving Lynn's furniture and household goods into storage while she waits for a new place to become available. We need to raise funds to cover the cost of two moves and the cost of storage for several months.
