Wolters Family Flood Help

Donation protected
UPDATE: Our insurance company came through (mostly), and they will be covering the majority of the costs! This is such amazing news for us! We need to cover the costs of the dryout and a few other items. We also cut costs by salvaging some items! For any of you who have donated, we thank you so much. Construction is still ongoing
as we enter month 2, and the construction company has done an amazing job so far! The goal has been lowered due to the help from our insurance.

Hello! My name is Val, and I'm reaching out to the community in the hopes of getting some help with emergency repairs to our home. Last week, we had a devastating flood, that caused damage to over 1/3 of our home including our youngest son's bedroom, a bathroom, the hallway and living room, and our master bathroom and closet. The damage was extensive, and our insurance will only cover a small portion of the repairs. We have drained our savings by paying for emergency drying services, and deductibles, leaving our finances exhausted. About Us: We are a loving family of 5. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for over 14 years. We have three wonderful children. Salem, our oldest, has severe high-functioning Autism Syndrome. He is an incredibly talented artist and enjoys reading comics. Aedan, our youngest son, is a straight-A student, is taking accelerated classes, and graduated 3rd grade 6 months early. He enjoys playing with Legos and loves studying old ships. Then there's Nataljia, our youngest daughter, who was born in 2022. She loves anything that resembles a kitty (it's also her favorite word), and she loves to play in the water. We're currently a one-income family as my husband stays at home to help care for our three children while I work and attend school for software engineering. He works hard to keep the house clean, cook meals, and he also tutors our two boys, helping them with their homeschooling. Living on one income has been a struggle. Matt, my husband is a Type-1 Diabetic and has been since the age of 4. He is insulin-dependent and often times the cost of his monthly medications and supplies can come close to our mortgage costs, but we've been making it work with careful budgeting. So this accident has really thrown us for a loop! What we need: We need to repair the following rooms due to the amount of water and the extent of the damage done. - Aedan's bedroom-replace flooring, walls, electric work, repaint - Second bathroom- replace toilet, walls, plumbing, piping, electric work, repaint replace shower/tub, replace sink/vanity, and floors - Hall and hall closet-replace floors, walls repaint, new closet door, electric work - Living room- replace floors, electric work, repaint - Master bathroom- replace shower and tub, walls, flooring, repaint, electric, vanity, toilet, plumbing - Master closet- floors, walls, repaint, electric We ended up using the money we were saving to replace our kitchen stove and washing machine to pay for part of our deductible for our insurance. However, our insurance will only cover a very small portion, and we still ned to pay for the dry-out service. My son doesn't have a bedroom right now and is sleeping with us. We're hoping to get enough to cover the repairs that need to be made as quickly as we can. I also work from home, and our home is in total disarray and is in a state of partial demolition (there's still more to go!). We have open walls with plumbing and wiring sticking out everywhere. Broken and cut pipes, only one working toilet and shower, and no flooring in almost all of those rooms. No repairs have begun as we wait for our insurance to help, or produce the amount of money needed out-of-pocket. If you can spare even $1 it would be so much appreciated. We also would appreciate positive thoughts and well-wishes just as much.
