My name is Brittany and Wolfgang is my father. (Most of you probably know that already)! On Saturday, April 8th Wolfie had a fall in his kitchen while making coffee and broke his neck at C1. It was about 745am. As a result of that fall, he suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke on the left side of his brain about 24 hours after being admitted to the ER where he was lucid and had been explaining what happened. It is likely that an ischemic stroke caused him to lose his balance and fall in the first place. He described it as "the room was spinning, and I couldn't get my arms out". *For more details on this story, please visit the Caring Bridge account! https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/thewolf
Wolfie has been in a rehab facility for the past month after spending three weeks in the ICU and another week in the hospital (PCU). Today he is being moved to a "sub-acute" care facility in El Cajon (there are ZERO in North County that take a "trach patient").
I am raising funds so that I can get Wolfie some additional medical treatment options that will GREATLY INCREASE his chances for recovery...and if not, they won't hurt him. I've learned that Stem Cells & Stroke Patients are a match made in heaven! I've found story after story about stroke patients, similar to my father, who made almost full recoveries after stem cell treatment. Stem cells work incredibly well on many kinds of paralysis caused by strokes as well as provide HUGE assistance to damaged brains in need of repair and rejuvenation (non-technical explanation). Basically, the stem cells should help Wolfie with talking and walking. You can tell he has a lot to say and needs some help getting it out! Stem cell costs vary depending on the amount, type and delivery method. More than one treatment is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. None of this is covered by insurance.
The funds will be used to pay for the Stem Cell treatments and other initial medical costs incurred.
