Chances are, if you're seeing this request for aid, it's due to your use of certain services my organization provides. As most of you know, we are a non-profit organization, in the most sincere of ways-- That is, we provide a service and never ask money for it. We don't charge any fees, no monthly subscription. And, even now, we will continue to provide that service, even if this doesn't get funded. The reason I'm establishing this is to see if the community we service is interested in upgrades. This comes on the heels of a recent power outage. When our power goes out, we don't have a person dedicated 24/7 to ensure that the services are turned back on. So, what we're looking to establish here is an uninterruptible power supply. I could fund this myself, as I have for everything else in this project, but I decided to let the users determine if this update is worth a donation or not. There is no requirement to donate. You will still get the same service, whether you donate or not. But, if we do make our goals, we will be able to provide better services. But, if you're content with the way things are now, no one is under any obligation to donate a thing. However, if we do make more money, we will be able to offset costs for other upcoming expenses, such as the increase in price we're seeing for greater storage capacity. (Thanks AI.) If this completely blows up and becomes even more massive than I'd expect, if the community really comes out for it, I may even look at getting a new, better system for the service. (To be fair, I'm not expecting it to get that far, I'm just hoping to be able to get an UPS for our systems.)
Again, I never ask for money for the services I provide, and I'm not asking for it, now. I'm merely offering this community to give a little bit to show their support for what we supply, and to see if there is enough support from the community to justify upgrades we're looking for. There is no obligation, nor any expectation, for anyone to give anything. Just appreciation for those that are able to give what they feel this service may be worth. Thank you for your time.
