UPDATE 08/26/23- Sadly, tomorrow (Sunday) Jeremy's life support will be shut off and the family has decided to let him go be at peace. Shannon and her family are now facing not only hardships due to sudden loss of income, but also trying to figure out how to pay for cremation and memorial services. This is a very difficult time to have to worry about money, and any donations help so much! Thank you to everyone for your caring and kind words and thoughts during this very difficult time.
Hi. My name is Ali. I received a text message this morning from one of my very best friends, Shannon. Her life partner of 22 years, Jeremy who is an Army Veteran, never came home from work last night. When she woke up this morning she discovered he had a seizure at work and had to be revived with CPR after 30 minutes of being clinically dead. Jeremy is now in ICU fighting for his life.
Shannon a disabled CNA, spending a great part of her life in nursing homes taking care of others loved ones during their last years. Jeremy and Shannon share a 20 year old son together who lives with them, who has Asperger's and contributes as much as possible. However, with Shannon being disabled and Jeremy now not able to work and the future being uncertain, this family is facing some great financial difficulty coming up. Shannon will not only need to put gas in her vehicle to go back and forth to the hospital, but also manage to keep food on the table for her and her son, as well as other medical expenses that insurance may not cover for critical care, and unfortunately, long term care.
