Our Mission: A Sustainable Food Revolution on Two Wheels
Imagine cycling 18,000 km across 28 European countries, savoring sustainable dishes like Hungarian lecsó, Greek moussaka, or Portuguese caldo verde, crafted with fresh local market ingredients. This is the WOGI EuroTaste Ride, an 8-month journey starting March 1, 2026, from Salem, Germany, led by the nonprofit World Gastronomy Network Inc. Using EuroVelo routes (EV15, EV1, EV8), we aim to connect local producers, consumers, and food enthusiasts through the WOGI app (launching March 2026), reducing food transport emissions by 20%.
Who We Are: A Personal Commitment to Sustainability
I’m Gabor Andras Varga, founder and president from Debrecen, Hungary, inspired by vibrant local markets and a passion for sustainable food. With my son Marcell, I’ll cycle to showcase Europe’s flavors in 240 cities, from lecsó to smörgåsbord, building a sustainable community.
Who Benefits: Empowering Local Communities
The WOGI EuroTaste Ride uplifts farmers, artisans, and chefs in cities like Budapest, Lisbon, and Helsinki. By sourcing from local markets, we strengthen short food supply chains, boosting rural economies and sustainable practices. Your support amplifies their stories globally.
The Challenge: Transforming Food Systems
Long food supply chains contribute significantly to carbon emissions. The WOGI EuroTaste Ride promotes local ingredients and cycling, aligning with the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Our goal: reach 100,000 European users by 2026 and 1 million globally by 2029.
How Your Support Helps
Your donations fuel our journey:
• Equipment: Fund e-bikes for the 18,000 km tour.
• Content Creation: Support videos and livestreams to share sustainable recipes.
• Community Events: Organize cooking events with chefs in 240 cities.
Every euro is transparently managed by our nonprofit.
