It’s time to highlight the Women of Fantasy Football! We at Club Fantasy FFL are beyond thrilled to present our 1st annual Women of Fantasy Football event! We are letting the ladies -- our friends Lauren Carpenter (writer with The Fantasy Footballers & FantasyPros) and Faith Enes (writer with Dynasty Happy Hour & Editor with Club Fantasy FFL) -- hijack our podcast. They have invited some esteemed guests from across the industry to join them as they tell their stories and talk fantasy football. The best part? We’re raising money for charity as we do it!
Women in Fantasy Football -- and really, women in sports in general -- aren’t given the same opportunity that men are. When women talk about sports, they have to work twice as hard -- sometimes ten times as hard -- to gain the respect of men (for whatever reason that is). It’s time to give them a voice. We’ve reached out to a number of women in the industry and invited them onto our show to hopefully inspire the next generation of Women in Fantasy Football!
Since Women of Fantasy Football is all about exposure to women in the medium, we felt supporting a charity that does the same would be rather appropriate for such an event. The Women’s Sports Foundation was established in 1974 to help advance the lives of girls and women through sports and other physical activities. They are advocates for change and they fund research studies to help women in all aspects of life. They want to help communities get girls active, and we want to be proactive in this fight for gender equality.
To raise money for WSF, we’re doing a series of raffles every week. We have a number of items to raffle off -- signed gear from players and subscriptions to some of your favorite fantasy sites to help you win your leagues in 2020 -- and all the money raised goes directly to charity.
We’re doing four episodes of our Women in Fantasy Football shows. The first episode is on 8/12; the second on 8/19; the third on 8/26; and the final one is on 9/2. We will announce new raffle items one week prior to the show and will draw the winners live during our episodes.
Each item will have a “donation price”. By donating that amount, you are entered to win that item. If you would like to add your name into the hate for a particular item multiple times, just times the donation amount by that number and your name is included that many times. (FOR EXAMPLE - if the price is $5 and you want your name entered 5 times, donate $25.)
PLEASE make sure you specify what item you are bidding on. We also ask that you include your name and contact info (Twitter handle would be best) so we know how to get in touch with you in the event you win.
You are more than welcome to donate for a chance to win multiple items. If you don’t want any of the items but instead just want to donate to the cause, you’re welcome to do that as well! Remember: we’re doing this for charity and to raise awareness for Women in Fantasy Football!
