Hi!
Before I get into the details, I just want to take a moment to thank you for being here. ❤️ It means a lot to me.
I know many of you reading this right now already know a little bit about our story and why this fundraiser is so important to me. But for those of you who do not, I want to take the time to fill you in.
My brother, Auston Jacobs, passed away on December 22nd, 2020. It rocked our family to the core. It will be almost 2 years without him here with us. As time has gone by, we have gotten stronger in how we carry our grief but there has not been a day that has gone by that we do not miss him.
He was an amazing brother, son, father (of 2), nephew, cousin, and friend. He was always the life of the party. The guy that no matter what group of people he was around, they loved him and welcomed him in. He was always making everyone laugh. He had the biggest heart. Even when he was struggling mentally, he still made time to show up for the people that he loved. He loved sharing his story and helping others overcome their own struggles. He just wanted to make a difference in this world.
I remember talking with him about purpose right before he passed away. And how he felt like he didn’t have a purpose here on earth. Little did he know, he was already living his purpose. There are so many people who have shared their story with me on how he had impacted them and how his presence and his light made such a big difference in their life. He was so so loved. And I know he knows that now. ❤️
His birthday is coming up on October 24th. It will be the 2nd annual WOD for cAUSe event and fundraiser in honor of him. The best way to celebrate him is to continue to shine his light and to continue his purpose of impacting lives. He will be turning 28. Last year we raised $5k and so this year we want to surpass that.
“To Write Love On Her Arms” (TWLOHA ) is the organization that we are choosing to donate all the profits from the fundraiser and t-shirt sales to this year. It is a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery.
I believe in everything that TWLOHA believes in. That you were created to love and be loved. That people need other people. That your story is important. That better days are ahead. And that hope and help are real.
I am so grateful for all the continuous love and support. It means more than you all will ever know. Thank you for helping me in celebrating Aus’s birthday and continuing to shine his light. ✨
