A world where we recognize the inbalances of power, opportunity, and perspective, and do our part in rewriting it. This is not just about being corrective, but about embracing a future of creativity we must admit we have not yet known. If 80% of the photography in the world is captured from the perspective of only one type of person, with one type of lived experience… what might we be missing? What have we yet to see, or feel? What have we yet to Imagine?

This initiative was born out of my own personal travels around the world as well as passion for storytelling. It’s a part of who I am as an educator, a child of immigrants, and a global citizen who can’t help but see the same patterns of injustice and imbalance pop up time and time again, across all borders. If certain problems continue to persist while a whole population of problem-solvers continues to be ignored… aren’t we missing an incredible opportunity?

Years of work on the front lines of education have taught me that as advocates for change, we can’t possibly dedicate all of our energy towards every cause. But that shouldn’t stop us from doing anything at all. This is my way of bringing attention to something very close to me, and that I hope will inspire others to adopt in their own spaces and across their own passions.

With your donation, you’ll be supporting these young people with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience life in the bush while learning the ins-and-outs of wildlife photography & conservation.

Money raised will cover all room and board & daily game drives for an entire month. Excess funds will go towards supporting other travel costs and potential equipment rentals. (because this is a DIY initiative, we will be working on how to support and reduce costs across these barriers to entry too!)
