Team Adam Lomax and His Boys
Donation protected
On Tuesday, May 7th, SCEGA Gymnastics terminated their boys' optional program along with head coach Adam Lomax who has worked tirelessly to build their program for at least 14 years, effective immediately. He and the 9 optional boys were informed that they were no longer part of their gym. This occurred the day after Adam returned from a successful National Championships with several of the boys. They were offered no chance to say goodbye, and they cancelled their year end banquet. These older boys who have spent most of their lives in the gym are left with no gym, no training, and few options.
Adam and his boys need a place to go, and quickly. Many of the boys train five to six days per week and are preparing for events scheduled in the next few months. One of them is going to be a senior and is being recruited to colleges. We need a space ASAP.
Adam is a national team coach as well as Region 1 Chairman consisting of California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. His obligations and contributions to the gymnastics community are vast and he balances his time with his sweet family, who did not deserve this. He will continue to devote his time, expertise and example to his boys, but we need your help.
Adam plans to open his own facility to accommodate these boys. This is much needed as the closest alternative for them is over an hour and a half away on the best day without traffic. As you can imagine, this unexpected cost is immense.
If you feel called to contribute to a temporary training space and eventual new gym and program, we deeply appreciate any and all donations.
The future is bright for these boys and their coach! We all believe that this experience will only make them stronger in gymnastics and in life! Thank you so much!
