Chris's Road To Recovery

Donation protected

Chris is a native of Lyons, Graduating from LCS, and is a friend, and family member, married to my niece Stephanie (Mastracy) Clack.  Chris and Steph have 3 Children, Chris Jr., Kerel and Kree.  Chris was diagnosed several years ago with Sarcoidosis (pronounced SAR-COY-DOE-SIS) which is an inflammatory disease that can affect almost any organ in the body.  The laymen’s definition is that it attacks organs in the body, causing issue with the function of the organ attacked, and also reduces the person’s overall immune system (.https://www.stopsarcoidosis.org/patient-resources/what-is-sarcoidosis/).

Chris is a veteran of the Navy;  Until recently he was employed by Wayne County as a Certified Nursing Assistant, until he was forced to leave his job serving and helping others, due to the symptoms of Sarcoidosis.

In Chris’s case, the disease first attacked his lungs, and was originally “controlled” by medication that helps to lessen the affects; unfortunately there is no cure, and the disease either remains the same, or gets worse; it does not get better.  His conditioned worsened recently, with his lung function greatly reduced, attacking his heart, eyes, and even his bones.  Chris and the family recently visited the Cleveland Clinic to review his options, with a possible diagnosis of a lung or even lung/heart transplant required.  The good news is that medication has seemed to lessen the effect on his heart, and at this point a lung transplant is not needed.  However, he will require regular, possible weekly visits to the Cleveland Clinic for additional treatments to try and control the effects of this terrible disease.

While most of Chris’s medical expenses will be covered, costs of travel, lodging, meals are not; and Steph will also be traveling with him, having to take unpaid time away from work.  My goal in starting this campaign is to help them with the uncovered expenses and loss of income (and the consequences of this).  It is expected that these visits to Cleveland will be almost weekly for the foreseeable future.

If you are able to help, please donate anything you can, no amount is too small; if you are not able to, that is ok thoughts and prayers expreciated, and  please share with your friends for the same.  Let’s help the Clack family focus on keeping Chris well!

Please keep in mind any monies received with this fund, are considered gifts, and are not tax deductible.  The only thing you will be receiving in return is the satisfaction of helping someone in need.

Thank you!
