My dad, Jose’s long road to recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
It’s already hard for me to talk about this, but my dad, Jose, had an incident on 3/25/25 around noon. He was doing a job for his next-door neighbor, with whom he has been friends for many years and has done yard work for in the past. My dad and a friend were cutting down a tree in the neighbor’s backyard. Unfortunately, despite having done this type of work many times before, things didn’t go as planned this time. When my dad cut the top branch of the tree, it fell in the direction where he was standing. The branch pulled the rope that was attached to him, causing him to fall more than 30 feet, landing face-first.
As a result of the fall, 12 of his ribs were fractured, along with a spinal fracture from C5 to TH3, and a shoulder injury. Initially, he also suffered internal bleeding in his lungs due to the collapse, but thankfully the doctors were able to stabilize him, although they still need to continue flushing out the remaining fluid daily. He will have a long road to recovery once he gets out of the hospital.
We are fundraising to help cover his medical expenses, physical therapy, and support him during his recovery.
This fundraiser is for my dad, who has always been there for his family, friends, and neighbors. Please send prayers for a quick recovery. I just want him to come back home…
