Shane Richard Walker; 2001-2020

Our beloved son Shane, a passionate young man with a bright future, came to the sudden end of his life's ride on his Father's birthday, April 30th, 2020.  A "straight-A" student at CSU San Marcos and a Class of '19 alumnus of Poway High School, he was well on his way to a career as a trauma surgeon or neurosurgeon.  On that fateful day, he was instead the subject of those professions... the ones where he could have helped so many others, someday.

Through the heartbreak of his loss, and the incredible fact that his potential was extinguished, we all must find some good... some way to heal ourselves, and to help others in ways he would’ve approved.  He left his life in an instant, of that we are sure, doing one of the things that brought him the most joy; responsibly riding a motorcycle.  His passion was so great for riding, I could not ever be "anti-motorcycle", but there ARE things we can all do to help save the well-being - and the very lives - of the riders we love.  Please, please, do not let yourself be in our situation, owing the another driver's irresponsible act.  So I, Shane's grieving father, respectfully request that in his memory, and to help save the lives of others, that you contribute to his legacy by giving a tax-deductible donation in any amount that will help us heal.  I'd love to see this at least reach $6849; one dollar for each day we all had him.  I thank you, and Shane thanks you for the chance that his name might live on.
