#LisaStrong
Hi, my name is Jeff Johnson and my family and I have decided to make a gofundme account on behalf of our Aunt, Lisa Stuart and anything raised will be given directly to her. We are reaching out to the community in hopes to get some support from others in shares, donations , or just kind words. We thought about what we could do for her as a family to support Lisa and this was what we decided to do for her and we hope you will read & share and if you can afford to help donate.

The Story -
On a Saturday night in February my Aunt Lisa went out to see a band play with her roommate and sister at a local bar/restaurant. Like so many of us do, we try to fill some of our weekends with fun nights out, but a fun night out soon would turn into a nightmare . After being at the establishment for 2.5 hours Lisa left the establishment with her roommate and after a slight disagreement about going back in to get her bag with her insulin inside our Aunt left in the back of an ambulance headed to John’s Hopkins with a right skull fracture. My family visited her 1-3 days after the incident and she was in the Nuero intensive care unit with blood coming out of both ears, her scalp was bleeding and the pillow case was covered to avoid blood stains. During the visits she was heavily sedated as the nurse told us she is a severe amount of pain. Our first concern was would she fully recover from such a painful head injury? Unfortunately, the nurse couldn’t tell us she said they would need to keep her and run lots and lots of scans while monitoring her and day 3 she had a feeding tube and we were terrified, but after a week or so we got great news - Lisa was transferred out of the ICU!!! Her parents live in Virginia and of course traveled to be by her side with everything and after about 2 weeks the hospital cleared Lisa to return home under supervision. Her injuries in summary multiple head injuries, brain bleeding, fractured skull, injured left ear(no hearing) and loss of use of my right hand amongst other injuries. Given her right hand is her dominant hand she was unable to give herself insulin properly for her diabetes and she was rushed back to the ICU for an extreme surge in sugar. She is finally home now, but overall feels deeply defeated, overwhelmed and depressed.

current situation (prior to accident in Feb)-
In May 2024 Lisa bought a single family home in parkville near her family
At the end of summer 2024 her job had to let Lisa go due to cost of employees
Lisa was actively interviewing and applying and felt very hopeful she would get a new job just prior to this injury
Lisa is now not only still without income and health insurance, but now medical bills are piling in, mortgage and car payments, BG&E, all the bills we all must pay monthly.

As a family first and foremost we realize how lucky we are have to have Lisa here with us and healing, however as her family it devastates us to see how far she was pushed back with getting back to work and all the financial stress she has to deal with when truly we just want her to focus on each day and healing. If you took the time to read Lisa’s story we thank you, and if you would share with other, donate, or send well wishes we appreciate it!!!! Our Aunt is very strong and independent and always one to help, but not to ask for it, but as her family it’s hard to see her so stressed and overwhelmed over finances on top of her injuries so again no amount is too small and from myself and our entire family thank you & god bless
