"Not Giving Up Without A Fight!"

Hi! My name is Amy Ontiveros.I have been on dialysis for 3 yrs. I realize how precious life is....People tell me I am a "walking miracle" and in many ways they are right :) I met my husband Rene 20 yrs. ago and although we have been on what feels like a rollercoaster ride at times we have stayed together and our love has grown stronger. I also have 2 Beautiful daughters, God has blessed me with. This past week I attended my daughter's graduation from Jr. High and I took Great joy and pride in her accomplishment....I also wondered if I would be here to see her graduate from High School. I try not to think too far ahead and live in the here and now. I tell my family I love them as much as possible. I'm not giving up yet. I pray everyday that a kidney will be found for me. This past week I was told that I was removed from the kidney list due to the fact that I have no secondary insurance, I tried applying for medicaid and was told my husband made too much money! The truth is that I have to pay out of pocket for my many medications and alot of times there isn't much left over for bill's and groceries for my family. I spoke to my Financial Advocate today at the Transplant Center and she told me that if we could raise half of the cost of the Transplant which is 5,000 they would put me back on the kidney list. I'm asking for your help to raise these fund's and get me back on the waiting list. I know that it's not a guarantee that I will get a kidney but it is a step to getting there and I want to be able to say "I did all I could do to stay with all the people I love" PLEASE help with whatever you can any amount is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Oh! One more thing my blood type is O if you have ever considered giving the gift of life I would be very appreciative. I know that a match is hard to come by but please remember that there are many people on the list who are Mother's,Father's,Daughter's,Son's,etc.and someone somewhere love's them.
