Hi,
My name is Fran White and I am fundraising for Heather Carpenter Wilson. Heather was involved in a serious auto accident after being unexpectedly homeless, unemployed and temporarily living with friends from her church in a rural community. However, due to the isolation, no means of transportation, a job or finances, she became overwhelmed and unable to cope. While walking on a country road in the rain she was tragically struck as a result of her emotional state.
Heather was hospitalized and bed-ridden from October 22, 2023 to February 12, 2024, having endured numerous surgeries and procedures on both legs and her hand; she is also being treated for several other medical issues.
This request for funds is for Heather to be able to obtain stable housing, to purchase a vehicle, to return to working in human services and to continue her healing.
We are also asking for prayer for Heather’s healing, that she be able to live independently and be able to care for herself . We pray that her testimony be seen and heard by many others who have been in this difficult place in their lives. We are very thankful for all your prayers and donations, however small, to be a sign of hope and God’s goodness and mercy.
We want to thank you all for your prayers, gifts and compassion for this dear woman as we continue in this journey.
UPDATE: February 14, 2024
On February 12th, Heather was discharged from New England Rehab to reside in our home ( Fran and Jerry) to continue her recovery.
Today, we were interviewed by WMTW Portland Channel 8 anchorwoman, Kathleen Jordan (center) to be aired at a later date. We will keep you updated.
UPDATE
After staying with our family for 2 and 1/2 weeks, Heather was able to move into her own apartment near her church community. We are hoping to continue to raise funds so she can purchase a reliable vehicle. Your prayers, gifts and donations have been a tremendous blessing in Heather’s life.
Please, share our page on your Facebook page, email or text---
In peace and love,
Fran
