WNC Fisheries Rehabilitation Fund: Post Helene

Donation protected
Hi, I am Kevin Howell, owner of Davidson River Outfitters in Pisgah Forest, NC. As everyone knows, Hurricane Helene has devastated Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. While the impacts to our favorite fisheries are still unknown and probably won't be fully known for several months or years, we do know that many businesses, guides, and communities relied on these streams for their livelihood.

While the cleanup and rescue will cost billions of dollars, the long-term cost to these communities will be felt for the next ten years as we try to restore stream banks, fisheries, and life to guides and communities. With those ideas and thoughts in mind, I am announcing the formation of the WNC Fisheries Rehabilitation Fund. All of the proceeds raised from this GoFundMe will be dispersed to stream restoration and stabilization, fish stock and reintroduction, outfitting businesses, and guides that have been affected by Hurricane Helene on a pro-rated basis based on the level of need.

Please help us restore the fisheries, guides, and businesses that we all love. The funds will be dispersed across the entire Western North Carolina and East Tennessee region by a board of directors.
