Titus Books: Three new poetry collections

Donation protected
New collections of poetry by Richard von Sturmer, Chris Holdaway and Scott Hamilton

Titus Books are planning to publish three new collections of poetry later this year, and would like to raise some money to help with all the work and the costs involved in producing, printing and launching the books.

Titus Books has been publishing edgy and unpopulist writing for over fifteen years now, and with the recently reduced opportunities to get funding through organisations like CNZ, crowdfunding is a way to get people directly involved (and to get the books into supporters’ hands as some reward for their generosity).

The three books being published are:

Resonating Distances by Richard von Sturmer – a six section interplay between tanka sequences and prose stories, which shows Richard’s lucid, enigmatic and formally experimental style, in which different parts of the book cryptically interlace.

Gorse Poems by Chris Holdaway – contemporary and combative: a collection of longish poems raging against land grabs, ecological disaster and worker exploitation, whilst invoking Hart Crane as a Dantean guide through our collective underworld.

Sonnets for Sio by Scott Hamilton – a series of reveries or letters from a palangi writer adrift in the South Pacific, to Tongan artist Sio Siasau whilst on his arts residency in ‘the pagan village’ of New York.

Titus Books are hoping to raise $6000 to publish these three books, and would like to offer a series of options for people who would like to donate.

1. Firstly, everybody who donates any amount (if they would like to be) will have their name acknowledged in print inside the books, and a small thankyou gift (poem or extract) will be posted to you.

2. For a $25 donation, a copy of the book of your choice will be posted out to you when the books are released, with a thankyou card/poem.

3. For a $70 donation, all 3 books will be posted to you when they are published along with a surprise gift (we are planning to print a special small edition for this).

4. Any donations on top of the below amounts will be gratefully received and put towards the publishing of these books, these donators will also receive all the books plus a surprise gift.

As the GoFundMe donation page doesn’t have a box to enter your personal details, please email Titus Books using the orders email address on our website: http://www.titus.co.nz/contact.html with your choice of book and your postal address once you have completed the form.

We are hugely grateful for any and all assistance received with this project.
