Those of you who may not know Lisa, she has the biggest heart of anyone. She has been a Paramedic for over 18 years in North Carolina. A beautiful mother of two, wife, and recently, as of a week ago, added the title of Wee Wee (Grandmother). Lisa's number one priority in life is to love and support her friends and family. Lisa and her husband, Michael Stophel, Battalion Chief of New Hanover County Fire Rescue and the Fire Chief of Rocky Point Fire Department, have helped many people in need over the years. It turns out that she and her family need our love and support now.

Lisa was in the hospital for eleven days. During this time, doctors found that she had a bowel obstruction. This led her to be transferred to a larger hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to remove the obstruction caused by multiple tumors. After pathology came back, she was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the small bowel. Lisa found out this is a rare cancer that will require months of chemo and other experimental drugs.
