Crohns and colitis uk
Hi my name is Evie, August 2023 I was urgently rushed into hospital from severe weight loss weighing in at 38kg, and I was severely anemic. I had been saying I was in severe pain for weeks prior and was misdiagnosed. When I finally got into hospital I was written off as anorexic but had to stay overnight as my weight and anemic level was so worrying. I stayed in hospital for a week and during that time after seeing multiple doctors I met with one who told me I had Crohn’s disease.
in October after I had left hospital I begun to suffer from severe pain and was collapsing and fainting suddenly out from the pain and was re admitted into hospital and they decided to start me on inflixmab infusions, and immunosuppressant which can help guide into remission.
unfortunately treatment didn’t work for me and I suffered from hair loss, multiple illnesses and infections as a effect of the immunosuppressant and my Crohns diseases worsened and I now require surgery.
I had never heard of this illness before I was diagnosed with it and it has had a big impact on my mental health as I didn’t know what it was and I don’t know anyone else with it.
Crohns and colitis UK a charity organization that helps give information on these illnesses as well as gives hope to people like me and can help connect people with the same condition as me so others don’t have to go through it alone❤️
any donations will be appreciated and will improve the quality of life for someone like me:)
