“Never Give Up”
The DeVoe family has been struck with yet another tragedy. In just 10 short months they have lost four immediate family members. The most recent being Ryan Michael DeVoe. On June 24th at 4:24 am his fight for life came to an end. Many questions are left unanswered, but what we do know is Ryan was shot at close range. The bullet severed his femoral artery causing him to lose excessive amounts of blood. Ryan was just 37 years old. This senseless incident left a family completely devastated. Ryan was a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, coach, mentor and friend to many. Most importantly he leaves behind his precious 6 year old son Blake. Blake was the light of Ryan’s life, and he is now forced to grow up without him. Ryan was the life of the party. He was kind hearted, charismatic, fun- loving, genuine, passionate and quick witted. Ryan also, loved and cherished his family. He faced many struggles in his life but, chose to live with the motto “Never Give Up” as it was tattooed on his forearm. So, that’s what we are going to do. “Never Give Up” on the DeVoe Family and most importantly his son Blake. No family should have to make these decisions for a young man that had so... much life yet to live. We cannot take the pain away or bring Ryan back but, as a community that knew and loved him we can help by taking some of the financial burden away. As many know Ryan fought hard for his son Blake. We need to continue that fight by making sure Blake’s future isn’t hindered by this tragedy. Ryan DeVoe may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
