Help Single Mom Get Back On Her Feet

It takes a village.

 

Valentina Henson and her three young children need our support! They have fallen on hard times and this newly single mom is struggling to make ends meet.

 

Valentina was born in Ukraine and lived in an orphanage the first four years of life. She was adopted by a loving US family and grew up in Arizona and North Carolina. Tragically, her adoptive mother passed away when she was 17. She was Valentina's biggest cheerleader, and no longer having a mom (for the second time) made life extremely difficult.

 

While life has not been easy, Valentina has persevered and is now an amazing mom to her three beautiful children, Saraiyah 13 months, Isaiah 5, and Joshua 11.

 

The family resides in Austin, Texas, and are dealing with some stressful issues, including Valentina coming out of an unhealthy relationship and  trying to leave their roach infested apartment. Despite multiple chemical treatments, the apt continues to crawl with bugs. The kids have allergies and various skin problems, exacerbated by their home environment. Valentina has been out of work for a few months  as work has been intermittent and she and her children need our help moving the family to a safe, clean environment. They are faced with enormous challenges in starting over - namely rent, food and clothes.

 

Valentina has secured a new place, but is having difficulty making rent, due July 15th, at least until she can secure a new job. Let's please join together and support this beautiful family. It would be very helpful if we could support the family with a few months head start in rent, until she secures employment.

 

Your generous donation will be used to help support this family as they navigate to a better life. Funds will specifically be used for:

 

Three months rent (@$1300/month) = $3900 + security deposit

Six weeks of camp for Isaiah and Joshua (very important for their development as it addresses disabilities the children present, and an opportunity to socialize with other children. Isaiah has difficulty making friends and the camp helps ($320/week).

Necessities needed to move (they are unable to bring anything from their current bug-infested home). Furniture, kitchenware, dishes, bunk beds, crib, bedding, etc

 

Valentina and her beautiful family are local to Austin, TX and could use donations of items needed, including gently used boys clothes sizes 10/12 and 6/7 and girls 12-18 months, hypo allergenic diapers, etc. If you are local and have items to donate, please contact us. She doesn't own a car, but we can try to arrange pickup.
