My name is Brandy Vila and I am proud to be the daughter of Douglas Basham.

Douglas Basham, 64, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Christmas night with his family by his side. After courageously battling kidney cancer for 15 months, Doug is at peace and finally “home,” pain and cancer free for the first time in his life.

My stepdad was more than just a father figure; he was a husband, grandfather, mentor, friend, and constant source of unwavering love. He was employed at ASI Signage for 34 years. He was a faithful member of New Vision Church and was actively involved in the music ministry. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for 11 years. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family at Truman Lake Cabin.

After many cancer treatments, hospital stays and procedures, my mom is left with many medical bills. We are reaching out to anyone who would like to help us cover medical expenses. Any support, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Our family is immensely thankful for all the love, kindness and generosity that has been extended to us.
