Mary's Battles

Friends and Family,

Mary’s battle started spring of 2014 when she was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer, Immediately after being diagnosed she was scheduled for a surgery and follow up appointments  with infusion chemotherapy. The surgery and challenging chemotherapy were successful, follow up tests all came back clear. Mary beat cancer and for a year and a half she was in remission.

Unfortunately after that year and a half, a test revealed that it had returned mid 2015 as stage 4. So the 2nd battle began, the place in which it was now spotted was in a location inoperable, they tried different forms of chemo to try to shrink the cancer to make it operable. Every 3 months they tried a new form of chemo as they were not doing the work they had hoped for. It continued to spread to various locations colon, liver and lungs. The beginning of 2016 Mary was placed on a waiting list for a San Francisco specialist but no specialists were testing for her forms of cancer.

During this trying time Mary continued to have a positive attitude and held firm to her faith and encouraged her family to do the same. She said “We praise our Lord in good times, why wouldn’t we praise him through through this?” She remained faithful in prayer through all the pain and hard times. Mary reassured her family to be strong, and if it was Gods will, she was ready.

Unfortunately Mary lost her long and hard fought battle on November 23, 2018 after spending a day of thanks with her family.

We humbly ask for your support at this time, not only financially but emotionally as we are left with an emptiness. Please keep our family in your prayers. We are also asking for support to help take care of a little financial burdens that we have encountered during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing this with friends and family.

I Steven “Isaac” Martinez and her children David Lopez, Isaac Martinez Jr., Shane Martinez and Tara Martinez would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the outpouring of love and support that you have shown us during these times. As heartbroken that the kids are they are extremely proud of their mother and are happy that she is no longer in pain and has made it home to be with her father in heaven.

Thank you,

Steven “Isaac” Martinez
