Fight the Famine
Tax deductible
St. James Orthodox Mission Church’s annual fundraiser for Baal Dan has officially begun!
To celebrate our 10 years, we would like to ask for your support in raising $10,000 to Fight the Famine in Ethiopia.
$10,000 would enable 100 children (their mothers) to receive a food ration supply of 6 weeks. This food ration is provided to each child once they are discharged from the emergency health centers after being treated for malnutrition, starvation and wasting. Once discharged, we don't want the child to slip back into the danger zone by returning to a home which has no food, and especially the right kind of protein and nutrient-rich food they need in their delicate health. We know that by providing this food ration program we can avert serious complications and death for children already so vulnerable.
We take food for granted in our abundant lives. If you are blessed enough to have had a meal today, we ask for your support in providing a meal for those who need our help.
“The rich exist for the sake of the poor. The poor exist for the salvation of the rich.” St. John Chrysostom
