The man on the left in this photo is my friend Najja. On May 15th 2018, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and just prior with Transverse Myelitis. They usually go together. MS is not what defines Najja. I want to take a minute to tell you about him and hope that you can help make a difference for a man that served our country, is an incredible husband and father, and a true friend.
Najja served in the Marine Corps in An-Nasiriyah, Iraq. He fought for this country and defended each one of us to his own physical detriment. Today he is the father of two beautiful children and lives in Texas with his supportive and loving wife. To see the Cannady family is to honestly know love. They support each other and fiercely love each other every day. Regardless of the pain, Najja wakes up every day and works to help Financial Advisors - none of which know what he is going through. Yet, he smiles through his day, supports his family and is still a hero.
During his time in Iraq, he developed e-coli. The 108-degree fever almost killed him, and unfortunately, it is believed that this is where his health issues began. Over the years, he has gone from running, lifting weights, and being a very physical person to barely walking.
Najja was approved for an MS medication to keep his symptoms at bay. The real healing has only been found with stem cell therapy treatments. The places that are leaders in stem cell therapy are unfortunately not here in the USA. Currently, MEXICO, PANAMA, and pretty much everywhere except the US offer this life-changing treatment for him. The results have been miraculous, and they are healing patients. There is a company in Mexico called ProgenCell. The therapy is approximately $23k US per session, and Najja would need two sessions.
Najja served his country and has done everything right. It's time for us to give back. He wants to walk again. To walk into Walmart with his daughter without her being worried he would fall. To stand and throw a football to his son. To stand up and hold his wife, who has held him up through all of this. Najja survived a war, and I know he will survive this challenge with our help.
