This is Ruth's story. I was a meth user for about 15 years. Methamphetamines are made from toxic substances. When you smoke meth those substances stay in your mouth and teeth, as well as the rest of your body. The nervousness also makes you grind your teeth. That has resulted in decay in most of my teeth. I was arrested in Nov 2010 for possession of a controlled substance. I went to jail and was put on probation for 2 years. I honestly did not know how I was going to stop using meth. I realized that I couldn't continue to use anymore, I had tried several times to quit but always failed. I was in withdrawal and I knew it was going to be horrible, at that moment I got on my knees on my bathroom floor and started to pray to God. Jesus heard my cry and delivered me from my withdrawals and addiction. JESUS saved me.
Since that time my life has completely changed. The consequences of my drug addiction is living every day with mouth pain. It is a daily reminder of my addiction. I rarely smile. I need extensive dental work done. Currently my husband and I have no insurance, and we do not have the funds to pay the out of pocket expenses. We have checked into several options but none of those are within our means.
Ruth has recently be dealing with abscessed teeth which greatly affects her health. The dentist had to remove two of her remaining teeth. She was told that her remaining teeth are very decayed and she will continue to have this kind of infection. If you are blessed to know Ruth, you know that she is a amazing and kind person. She needs to have the extensive dental work done for her health. Ruth has an amazing testimony and had been clean and sober since that night 9 years ago on her bathroom floor. Please consider donating to this very worthy cause. Thank you so much!
