Who Are We?

Listen is a Dodge College Senior Thesis film spearheaded by Writer/Director Luke Binkow and Producer Jack Safir.

We have a passion to tell this story that focuses on the importance of listening to the voice inside all of our heads. Often times, we’re so overwhelmed by input from those around us, that we forget what we truly want. We’ve all shared those unique  moments, whether in nature, in a silent car ride, or as we drift off to sleep, where we finally get some quiet, and that inner voice comes out and reminds us who we are.

We're a team of students from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University looking to raise funding for our senior thesis film. Directed and produced by two seniors, Luke Binkow and Jack Safir, LISTEN is an incredible creative endeavor. After months of pre-production, it's finally time to bring this movie to life. This is a senior theis project that requires additional funding in order to achieve the creative vision of the director. Every contribution will help bring the team closer to achieving this goal.

What's The Film About?

When a reclusive sound mixer's audio-obsessed lifestyle, unfulfilling career, and constant on-set harassment from the cast and crew reach a peak, he struggles to maintain his sanity...

In LISTEN, we follow the story of Charles, a production sound mixer who devoted his life to listening. At work and in his personal life, he listens to the sounds around him - from people walking past him on the street to the directions he's given. Charles' life is so enveloped with sound that he's forgotten how to listen to himself. But after finding an old recording that gives him a new perspective, he’s able to hear his inner voice more than ever before.

Why Do We Need Donations?

We're looking for donations to help make this film a reality. Most of the money raised will go towards funding production expenses such as camera equipment, set design, and additional expenses brought on as a result of the pandemic. Even if the final goal is not reached, all funds will go towards helping finance the project. Donors of $100+ will receive a special thanks in the film's credits. We have big hopes for this project, as it’s our final and most ambitious story yet. Any amount donated will help bring this story to life.
