Two New Knees for Bodie

My brother Charlie's dog Bodie is the best. He has a huge dinosaur head and a huge puppy heart that doesn't seem to have noticed he's not a puppy anymore.

Bodie also doesn't have any idea how big he is, or much of a sense of self-restraint. Sometimes he lollops around too hard and hurts himself. He had surgery on his right knee-- basically ACL surgery-- about a year ago, and felt good for a while. Now he needs the same surgery on the other knee, AND he needs more work done on the first one. Unfortunately, the two surgeries together are estimated to cost about $8,000, and this is more than any of us have lying around.

We hate this. Bodie lives to move and he's having to lie around a lot more these days than would be his preference. We understand this campaign may not raise anything close to the amount needed to cover the surgeries and related care, but anything helps. If this goes the other way and we raise more than is needed, any extra will be donated to an animal shelter.

We love this dog more than reason.
