**Asking For Support in Our Recovery from Hurricane Helene in Asheville, NC**
Friends, family, and loved ones,
My family and I are asking for your help. As many of you know, Hurricane Helene leveled Asheville, NC. It was an unprecedented event that created catastrophic destruction.
Our home in Asheville wa amongst the many that were impacted significantly.
Power was knocked out instantly the morning of the hurricane. Hours later, we lost access to water as insane flooding destroyed the city's water system. Our car, unfortunately sustained heavy damage due to high winds and flash flooding and is not drivable currently.
While we were able to eventually evacuate and are safe (thanks so a special group of people), we have no idea when clean, running water will be available for us to return to our home (or power and internet which is needed for work, open roads for getting around, and so on), leaving us with a lot of uncertainty.
Your donation and support would go toward:
- Food and basic supplies for our family
- Renting a car while we are on the road to get said supplies (where we're currently located, it can take almost a week to receive Amazon deliveries)
- Repairing the car to make it drivable again
- Homeschool items for our daughter (coloring books, craft projects, etc.) to have some semblance of stability and familiarity
- Loss of wages from our small businesses
