My name is Jillian Sullivan and I am a coworker and friend of the kind, giving, funny, loyal, faithful, and beautiful Maggie Farag. Here is Maggie's story:
Thomas, Maggie's partner in crime, best friend, and "Buddy", was diagnosed with stage two pancreatic cancer in early August 2016. Since then, his cancer has progressed quickly and aggressively. In December 2016, it became clear that Thomas was out of treatment options that were likely to impact his outcome and on Christmas Eve, Maggie and Thomas met with a hospice social worker. The last 4+ months have been spent trying to keep Thomas as comfortable as possible. As some of you know, Maggie had hoped to take Thomas on one last grand adventure to Hawaii or Italy but they were faced with the tough reality that they will need to stay close to home for the remainder of their adventures as air travel isn't plausible given Thomas' condition.
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to share that Thomas is reaching the end of his life on this Earth, and the end of his 12+ year journey of with his beloved Maggie. Since Maggie's last Journal Entry on CaringBridge, Thomas' condition has continued to deteroriate. Although difficult to predict, we anticipate that the end is near, and likely no more than a couple of months away.
In advance of Thomas' passing, I am asking, on Maggie's behalf, for your help to cover end of life expenses including those related to his memorial, funeral, and burial. Maggie doesn't make this request lightly. However, one of the many things this experience has reminded her is that we do not journey through life alone. Maggie is surrounded by people who love and cherish her and want to help however they can.
