Last week, Meegan travelled to Jamaica with her mum and niece to visit her friend for a few days. Unfortunately, on day two of the holiday Meegan had a serious accident in the gym and was rushed to a private hospital in Jamaica. After spending $10,000 on medical care and scans, Meegan’s family were notified she would need to have stomach surgery as soon as possible which would cost $30,000.
Her family did all they could to raise the money, but unfortunately were unable to do so in such a short space of time. Meegan was then rushed to a public hospital to have emergency surgery as her condition became a matter of life or death.
Meegan’s surgery was successful and she began on the road to recovery. However, worried about the risks of infection, rising costs for her care and being in an unknown country, she is desperate to be able to go home.
On Thursday, 10 August 2023, we were happy to get the news that she was being discharged and would fly back home on 11 August 2023. Sadly, this was short lived as a couple hours after discharge, she was rushed back to hospital due to bleeding.
Meegan is being closely monitored and undergoing examinations to find out what is causing her to lose so much blood. We all want Meegan to arrive back in the US safely to undergo any further treatment.
However, the safest way for her to travel so soon after such major surgery is via a Medical Evacuation. The cost of this exceeds $25,000, which is why we are asking for assistance on getting Meegan home.
Please donate what you can to ensure this can happen.
Love and light to you all ❤️
