I Bradley (23), suffered a medical event on November 26, 2024, that left me to be without oxygen for approximately 55 minutes. I went into cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. I was on a ventilator for 5 days. When i came off the ventilator, i was jerking all over, and it became evident that i had a brain injury. I was diagnosed with an anoxic brain injury, from no oxygen, that has caused a rare condition called Lance Adams Syndrome. My body jerks, and it becomes worse with movement, myoclonic jerks. My walking, speech, and ability to carry on independent activities are greatly affected. Due to the brain injury, I also suffered cognitive impairment. Since this is such a rare condition, there is not a neurologist that specializes in it. I have been seeing a neurologist in Charlotte; he is a wonderful doctor but has never treated a patient with Lance Adams Syndrome. I have seen a dr in Cleveland Ohio June 6th and he one of the very few drs who have dealt with this condition. He has only seen 3 other cases like mine. I have another appointment to go to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, for very important MRIs on neck/back and tests because he thinks they may have missed something from where I was with low blood pressure and no oxygen for a long period of time. My appointment is July 30th 2025. I am asking for any donation, a small one would help greatly to get me there, to cover the travel expenses. The doctors say the first year of my treatment will make the most impact on my future. Thank you, and please share this story.
