Help Get Me to France!

Hello! I'm Chantal Lesley, an emerging artist based in Austin, TX.

I've recently received the wonderful news that I have been accepted as an Artist in Residence at Chateau d'Orquevaux in Orquevaux France for the month of June 2024.

It's a great accomplishment to have been accepted, as only 20% of applicants are awarded this residency.

I have been awarded two grants, but I still am needing funds to cover the cost of the residency (not including expenses for travel from Austin, TX to France, art materials, or any other expenses I'll encounter during my month in France).

Finding my way to an art career has been a tumultuous ride that I have fought very hard for and I am very proud of my success which includes accomplishments such as: exhibiting my work throughout Texas and the US, being recognized as an Honorable Mention recipient of the Lenscratch Student Prize in 2021, graduating from Texas State University with a double BFA in Communication Design and Fine Art Photography in December 2021, exhibiting my first solo show En Medio de la Nostalgia in the summer of 2022, and being awarded a Residency with The Line Hotel partnered with Big Medium in Austin, TX.

Last year, I had my first Artist Residency at LATITUDE in Chicago, IL and it was an incredible experience that has granted me an immense amount of opportunities and connections in the art world. I know that this residency at Chateau d'Orquevaux would be an invaluable experience that would do the same and help propel my career.
