Helping Harrison And Healing
Donation protected
Our precious Harrison was born with SMA:Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type 0. SMA leaves Harrison with very little muscle tone making it extremely difficult to breathe on his own which is why he has a trach. Because of his low muscle tone, he cannot clear his own secretions, blink on a regular basis, or cry. He communicates with his beautiful eyes because SMA has taken his ability to smile. Harrison needs to be at least 12-14 pounds to transition to the home vent to come home. We drive up to South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful daily to spend as much time as we can with our son. We are constantly searching for trials that welcome type 0, but have not found one yet. It is exhausting work with many dead ends, but we won't give up on our son, we will do everything we can to save his life. Because SMA is responsible for many respiratory problems, Harrison needs a sterile nursery and home environment to help keep him healthy. Please help us to continue to be able to travel up to our Harrison daily, to take the time to research trials and to provide him with the nursery and home environment he needs. Please help us help our Harrison.
