Hey everyone. I’m not thrilled about doing this, but I could use some help.

As many of you know, I was laid off last year a few months after I moved to Panama. Everyone in the web development industry is chanting “Back to the office” these days, and I have been having difficulty finding regular work. Since then, I have been living on occasional freelance work and the goodwill of my parents and friends.

Recently, I started a podcast called Boquete Weekly as a way to try and make money locally. It’s very new, but the numbers are very encouraging. Today, I had a local car rental company approach me about advertising on the podcast, which could mean the end of my financial woes and a return to self-sufficiency.

The problem with that is I’m still waiting on documents from Italy for my Panamanian residency application. This means I don’t currently have a work permit, which means it’s illegal to do business here. The only way I can solicit local advertisers is if I form a local corporation in Panama. Which is expensive, and I am basically broke.

What I would like to ask of you, my friends, is to help me start a company here so I can finally start earning money and get back on my feet. I have two advertisers already willing to pay me $100 per 60-second ad per episode. At two 60-second ads for a weekly show, that comes to $800 per month, and that number is just going to get bigger as the show grows. This could legitimately be my ticket to the life down here that I want.

I know I have been generous to a lot of you out there in the past, but I also know I’m not the only one times are tough for right now. If you can help me, I would truly appreciate it, but I understand if you can’t. Have a good day, and thank you.
