McAllen High School Swimmer Competes at a National Level.
For the first time in the history of Rio Grande Valley Swimming, a local swimmer is competing on a National Level. I have been swimming since I was 7 years old. My love of the water has been evident since my birth. Now I have the oppurtunity to compete in the Country's most prestigious meets, all of which are out of state. One of theses meets is the Arena Pro Series in Santa Clara, CA. As well as the Phillips 66 National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. My goal is to be ranked top 2 in the nation in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke. After these meets, I am taking the opportunity to tour the campus at Stanford University and the University of Notre Dame.
Some of my most recent, and greatest accomplishments that I have attained so far are:
-4 Time medalist at Winter Junior Nationals
-4 Time medalist at Futures
-3 Time Medalist at Texas 6A
-Multiple Zones and All-star selections
-District and Regional champ in various Individual Events 2015-2017
-3 Time NISCA All- American
Although the above mentioned accomplishments are exceptional, I have had to achieve these despite the fact that I have not been affiliated with a club as the majority of my top competitors have. Also, as a result of not being affiliated with a club, the responsibility of paying for all of my expenses thus far has fallen on my mother and grandparents. Due to regulations by USA Swimming, I am not allowed to have sponsors, however donations are accepted. Any and every donation is truly appreciated, and a blessing. Although this goal seems steep, I assure you that it is the neccessary amount to cover airfare, hotel, transportation, and other associated expenses for multiple trips that are each over a week long!
With the aspirations of more National competitions, my family and I have come to realize the need to reach out to the community for help. The more meets that I can attend, the more doors open to myself as well as other swimmers who come after me. I have so much more to achieve in the future, but it will only be possible with contributions from generous and kind supporters. I can qualify through hard work, determination, and by my desire, but I can only get there with your help! Please be one of those who contributes in my journey to fulfill my potential by donating!
