This is Mari, she is from Brazil, and is a 36 year old beautiful woman. She came to the US to study English and after she became fluent, she started studying for her MBA. She would be having her graduation at the end of this year and would be beginning her career in the business world!
Unfortunately, she has just been diagnosed with Breast cancer in July, and also a 2cm lump on her armpit. Her type of cancer is classified as triple negative, which means it is the most difficult to treat since most hormone therapies target one of the three receptors, so triple-negative cancers often requires combination therapies.
Because she is on a Student Visa and is not a citizen yet, she has been denied Medicare and offered no financial assistance. She has already been getting large medical bills from the appointments and examinations for her diagnostic.
Mari will begin chemotherapy next week for what will be 12 sessions of once a week treatments and than 8 sessions of another round of chemotherapy every two weeks, and probably surgery after all this. As we explained before, there is no guarantee that the initial chemotherapy will work.
We are trying to raise the funds for Mari to help pay her medical bills and her personal expenses while she is going through these harsh times. She doesn't have any family here in the US, which is making it even harder on her.
Mari is such a strong and hard working woman, and is full of dreams and goals. I have been her friend for four years, and I've never seen her down on hard times like this in life. But this diagnosed just blindsided her. She has always dreamed of having kids and a family, and it breaks my heart thinking that Breast Cancer can crush those dreams.
I have faith it will be just one more battle, and she will win! the only thing is, her good friends and myself can only do so much. So we are asking for your help and financial support, so we can have her only worry about beating Breast Cancer. Essa é a Mari, ela é do Brasil, e é uma linda mulher de 36 anos. Ela veio para os EUA estudar inglês e depois que se tornou fluente, começou a estudar para o MBA. Ela se formaria no final deste ano e estaria iniciando sua carreira no mundo dos negócios!
Infelizmente, ela acaba de ser diagnosticada com câncer de mama em julho, e também com um nodulo de 2 cm em sua axila. Seu tipo de câncer é classificado como triplo negativo, o que significa que é o mais difícil de tratar, já que a maioria das terapias hormonais tem como alvo um dos três receptores, então os cânceres triplo-negativos geralmente requerem terapias combinadas.
Como ela tem um Visto de Estudante e ainda não é cidadã, ela teve o Medicare negado, e não pode pedir assistência financeira ao governo. Ela já está recebendo muitas contas médicas com as consultas e exames para seu diagnóstico.
Mari vai começar a quimioterapia na próxima semana pelo que serão 12 sessões de tratamentos uma vez por semana e de 8 sessões de outra rodada de quimioterapia a cada duas semanas, e provavelmente cirurgia depois de tudo isso. Como explicamos antes, não há garantia de que a quimioterapia inicial funcionará.
Estamos tentando levantar fundos para Mari ajudar a pagar suas contas médicas e despesas pessoais enquanto ela está passando por esses tempos difíceis. Ela não tem família aqui nos Estados Unidos, o que está tornando as coisas ainda mais difíceis para ela.
Mari é uma mulher forte e trabalhadora, cheia de sonhos e objetivos. Sou amiga dela há quatro anos, e nunca a vi em tempos difíceis como este na vida. Mas este diagnóstico lhe deu umas rasteira. Ela sempre sonhou em ter filhos e uma família, e parte meu coração pensar que o câncer de mama pode destruir esses sonhos.
Tenho fé que será apenas mais uma batalha, e ela vencerá! a única coisa é que seus bons amigos e eu não podemos fazer nada.
