Wiz's Veterinary Odyssey
Donation protected
Recently, my big kitty Wiz AKA Weezy AKA Special Agent Dale Cooper, fell ill. He was lethargic, unresponsive and unwilling to eat or drink water, or use the litter box - when he would try, he would make some very pained sounds. I rushed him to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and waited while they stabilized him and diagnosed the problem.
Near as the vets could tell, he has a blockage in his colon. Thank goodness it wasn't FLUTD or ammonia crystals in his bladder, but this is still quite life-threatening to the poor little guy. Yesterday evening I left work early to pick him up, as the vets reported he was stable, but still not eating or defecating. They said the best thing would be to take him home and do everything possible to de-stress, in hopes that he gets comfortable enough to eat and poop.
That hasn't happened yet, but I'm keeping a close eye on him and trying to keep his spirits up, and give him a little bit of exercise to get things moving.
Unfortunately, as is the nature of the veterinary practice all of this has come with a significant cost. The bill from the VEC was to the tune of $2,177.66. This is much better than their initial quote of $3,157.52, but still quite a bit of dosh to have to shell out, in any economy. I don't normally do this ,but I figured I'd start this GoFundMe, in hopes that some of you kind souls may be able to help recuperate the costs.
Wiz is on a long journey back to health and fitness, much like myself. To any prospective donors, I will gladly provide pictures and updates on his progress back to becoming a happy, healthy and fit kitty.
