Witten's Spina Bifida Journey, #smittenwithwitten
Donation protected
As some may know, Nic and Brittany Cissell are expecting a baby girl, Witten Grace, to arrive in June. At Brittany’s 20-week anatomy scan, the family was met with the news that baby Witten has Spina Bifida – a type of neural tube defect that happens when part of the spinal column does not close completely. Brittany will be delivering at Norton’s Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY, where Witten will undergo surgery within the first 36 hours after birth and remain in the NICU during recovery for a minimum of two weeks. Above all, the family covets your prayers at this time for the functionality of Witten’s major organs, that the complications from Spina Bifida don’t progress harshly, a safe delivery, for the hands of the medical staff in surgery, and for the strength of the family and Witten’s healing as they learn to navigate life with Spina Bifida.
In response to many who have expressed interest in giving, a GoFundMe has been set up specifically to provide the family assistance with travel and medical expenses during this time. Every prayer and/or donation is certainly appreciated.
