I Love You With All My Kidney
Donation protected
Talkativeness, stubbornness, animation, silliness, and kidney compatibility, Rob Cureton met his match while on stage at Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie in Nashville, Tennessee during December of 2008. He was playing bass with a local artist when a girl in a striped dress entered, prompting him to call her out from the stage, referring to her as "that candy cane walkin' in," while she embarrassedly took a seat. He immediately told God that if He gave him a girl like that, he would be done forever. Natalie, on the other hand, didn't see him for who he is and told him she only wanted to be his friend a few days later. Rob let her know he had enough friends and they parted ways.
Over the next three and a half years, their paths would cross, they would spend a little time together, then Natalie would run away, not taking Rob seriously. Eventually, he told her, "I may not be your first choice but I'm good for you," and his boldness opened her eyes and changed the game! They immediately became inseparable and married one another October 29th, 2013 at Fort Granger in Franklin, Tennessee on a beautifully foggy Tuesday morning before going zip lining.
Natalie has always wanted to donate a kidney since her dear friend's dad, Tommy Waddle, passed away two weeks before his daughter, Jamie was to give him hers. She had been on the list to be tested behind Jamie as a backup and the desire to donate remained in her heart and on her mind for the next ten years. Two years ago, she and Rob received the news that she, in fact, was his match, shortly before they were married. Rob had never questioned this and said he always knew she was "his match."
Rob is a professional bassist, writer, and artist, while Natalie teaches English Language Development (formerly English as a Second Language) at Antioch High School. Both Curetons will not be able to work for approximately 6-8 weeks as they recover from transplant surgery. Their friends & family desire for their healing to not be hindered by thoughts of how to supplement their paused incomes. If donated funds remain after taking care of their needs, Rob & Natalie would like you to know that they will use the rest of your contribution to bless the students at Creative Soul Music Academy as well as the ELD and the Music Departments of Antioch High School because they believe music and education are some of the best healing therapies around. They firmly believe in investing in the futures of our children, all of our children.
P.S. Although all of the surgery costs are covered, we just learned that there are required medications for 4-6 months that will not be covered. We will keep you posted on these expenses. Thanks for your support!
