With Your Support, Cancer WON’T Take My Life

Donation protected
When sitting in the doctor’s office waiting to hear the results of cancer testing, everything imaginable goes through your mind. Can you fight this? Is it serious? Who will care for your family if something is seriously wrong? And of course…why is this happening to me?
My name is Amy and every one of those questions went through my mind as I awaited my results and to my dismay…the results were positive. Stage 4 Lymphoma was riddling my body and I was in for the fight of my life.
I had so many questions as I did not even fully understand what this meant. Cancer in my mind meant the worst possible scenario and I could not grasp what was happening to me. It was like time stopped. My whole world became so much smaller with every petty fight or previous worry quickly seeming so useless and unimportant.
What will happen to my sons? Although they are now adults themselves at 20 and 26 years old, they are everything to me and I could not help but fear them watching their mother slowly slip away. The pain it would cause them would be unbearable and I knew at that very moment this disease was not going to be the end of me. Cancer was not going to take me from them! I was going to fight with every part of my being and fight I did!
It has been a long road so far starting with 6 rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy. R-CHOP is a combination of five drugs that work together to target and kill cancer cells, but they too began to take their toll on my body. My hair began to fall out, my strength waned, and to my surprise…my teeth and gums began to rapidly deteriorate.
The drugs meant to fight the cancer were slowly harming once healthy tissue with my mouth being affected the worst. However, the treatments were beginning to show promise at reducing the cancer cells and today, my fight continues with the start of the next 20 rounds of radiation therapy. As you can imagine, radiation therapy has its own detrimental side effects as well, but I will never give up this fight despite the fact that the treatments fighting to save my life have slowly stripped away my smile.
You always hear about people losing their hair and feeling weak during cancer treatment. But no one explains just how severe the financial stress of worrying about how you will pay for treatments, the emotional stress of seeing the worry in your children’s eyes, and the physical stress the treatments have on your body will have on your overall physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
You begin to feel trapped in a world of constant fear and worry. Even looking in a mirror at a reflection you no longer recognize is beyond what I could ever put into words, and it is my hope that with your generous support, the fight for my life can continue with some of the emotional and mental stressors put to ease.
Today I am here to seek your support in funding my continued cancer treatments while helping to restore some of my emotional and mental well-being through much-needed dental care and an appropriate wig.
100% of your generous donations will go directly toward the following expenditures:
● Medical Co-pays
● Transportation, Car payments, Gas, and Vehicle Insurance due to daily Doctors/ Hospital visits
● Major Dental Work due to the damage caused by chemotherapy
● Assistance with regular household bills

This campaign means the world to me as it is not just about restoring my smile and my confidence to be seen in public…it is about saving my life so that I can be here to watch my sons prosper in their lives. To one day hold my grandchildren and watch them grow. To simply live without the stress that continues to deteriorate my health.
I cannot put into words what your generosity means to me as any donation, no matter how big or how small, is one step towards me beating this horrendous disease and returning to the life I once knew surrounded by the love of my children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and I ask that you please share this campaign with your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers so that together, we can kick cancer's butt!
