With your help I can ride to support my charities ❤️

For anyone who perhaps saw a shared post and their curiosity got the better of them; I hope this introduction may suffice. For anyone who knows me; thank you for clicking through to my page. And for each and everyone of you who reads my blurp, supports me, and helps me raise the funds to facilitate charitable endevours- from the bottom of my heart- I thank you, truly thank you. I cannot express how much your help, support, and kindness means; I hope one day I can assist you in achieving your goals.

I am originally from the Netherlands. I moved away when I was young and travelled extensively to various corners of the globe. My parents have given me opportunities that I could only wish for. I am incredibly grateful to them for raising me and allowing me to pursue my dreams.
I have since settled in Australia. I studied to be a nurse because I experienced first handedly what it is like to be treated amazingly well by nurses and also what it feels like to be misjudged and treated like nothing by nurses. I swore to myself I would never be a nurse that would treat someone like they did not matter. I wanted to be one of the good nurses.

This perseverance lead to me work in a busy and highly recognized emergency department. It was not an easy road to get to where I am today. I love my job. I love the people I work with, the team spirit and the insanely skilled co-workers that motivate me everyday. I would trust my co-workers with my life, without a doubt. We have seen the worst and the best in people; regardless, we do not stop caring. Empathy is a trait that I attribute to many nurses; I don't believe a nurse could last in that profession if it was not for empathy.

Perseverance is what lead me to pursue my one dream, one bucketlist item that I would do anything for. The Mongol Derby. It's a 1000 km endurance challenge/race over 10 days. Every 40 kms we stop and are vetted, then change horses. The race is strict and has massive organizational elements that come to play. It seeks to support the local Mongolian community and national traditional practices of their nomadic lifestyle. These cultural traditions are slowly dying out due to massive industrialisation of the country. This race facilitates the livelihoods of the nomadic herders that trace back to the days of Genghis Khan.

For this race to come true, for me to realise my dream, and for this continued charity towards the local community, I ask for your help, and in turn you will contribute to maintaining traditional practices of the Mongolian people and their livelihoods.
This venture is not all about my own achievements; a major part is the charity fundraising element. I do not want to receive such an opportunity without giving back in some way. Several charities are close to my heart so I will choose to divide the donations across these organisations.

SAHA- Save A Horse Australia is an amazing charity that rescues horses that are on their very last leg and nurses them back to health and finds them a home where they are treated with all the love they deserve. SAHA maintains ownership of these horses so that they can never fall in the wrong hands again.
I would also like to donate a part of the money to the wellbeing committee of the Alfred Emergency Department so that they can continue to facilitate activities and social engagements that seek to maintain a motivated and enthusiastic workforce who provide the best possible care and medical attention to some of the sickest patients.
And lastly The Kidney Foundation supports the research and wellbeing of kidney patients, a charity that holds a very personal meaning to myself and my family.

Thank you for reading the extensive blurp, I hope I haven't lost you yet?! I would like to ask you for help- whether you can spare anything to donate, and/or share this to as many people as you can think of- every little bit counts. I aim to reach the top, but without your help I won't make it that far. I know times are tough, and nothing is too little. If you can spare anything to donate towards this massive adventure and my chosen charities I will be forever grateful.
