With travel and medical expenses

Hi everyone, my name is Chelsea. I have created this go fund me on behalf of Mary Pisoni, Millie Storey, Courtney and Mable McCormick. Please take the time to read and help if you are able.

On Wednesday June 8th at approximately 3:00pm Mary Pisoni , known as Nana by most, was backed over and drug down Main Street in fernie BC by an elderly man, until a few amazing bystanders stopped and alerted him of what was happening. She was stabilized at the Elk Valley hospital , and flown by STARS helicopter to the foothills hospital is Calgary AB. She sustained a fractured Neck, fractured Back (middle & lower) along with a fractured sternum and several broken ribs. She also sustained a massive laceration to the back of her head and road rash over her entire body.

Thankfully she is not paralyzed, however we are awaiting a verdict from the spinal neurologist on whether they are going to do spinal surgery to repair the damage.

Mary has also been having issues keeping her blood pressure down , due to the trauma her body has endured. She is currently stable at the foothills hospital. Updates will follow.

To make matters worse Mary lost her husband and life partner of 40 years on May 13 2022 Raymond Pisoni. She buried him on May 19th 2022. Both Mary and Raymond were a very large part of the community. Craft fairs and demo derbies were their favourite!

I’ve put this go fund me together in hopes that we could ease some of the family’s financial heart ache in this unbearable time.

Mary will need a hospital bed for her living room, bars installed in her house, caregivers, medications and that’s just a start. Her granddaughters Courtney and Mable as well as Millie her daughter have lost days of work, spent money they didn’t have to be by her side in Calgary and will lose months of work together to take care of her in the future.

With the help of our amazing community I believe we can ease the financial worries this family will face in the future.
