Hello, my name is Eymi González, I am currently 2 years and 7 months old and I live in a province of the State of Mexico.
At the beginning of the year I was diagnosed with Waardenburg Syndrome (genetic disorder), causing my eyes to be different colors (heterochromia) but the worst thing about this syndrome is that it has also caused me hearing loss (bilateral profound hearing loss), so I cannot perceive sounds in either of my ears causing me to be unable to speak either.
Today, I want to ask for your help so I can lead a normal life like others. There is no cure for Waardenburg Syndrome, as there are different mutations. However, what can be done for me is surgery so I can perceive sounds and hear for the first time, and with this, learn to speak. My parents have done everything they can to make sure I'm well, but we are humble people who live in the countryside and have limited resources. Therefore, we don't have the necessary resources for me to undergo cochlear implant surgery.
At the moment, my genetic studies are being analyzed in the USA to determine the mutation stage of the syndrome. Please, if you can, support me so I can hear for the first time, learn to speak, and adapt and integrate into society, I would be very grateful.
With love and gratitude, EYMI
