Hi, my name is Caitlyn, and Roxy is my baby girl. I first met Roxy, about 4 1/2 yrs ago, when I started dating her daddy. Unfortunately, we lost her dad (Mike) about 3 1/2 yrs ago. Mike was her person through and through, I've tried to step into that role as best I can, but his shoes will never be filled in her eyes.
About a week ago I noticed Roxy wasn't wanting to play as much as usual, not eating her full meals and just wanted to sleep, which if you know her, is NOT like her. But she had been bit by a tick and I chalked it up to lyme disease and we would get it checked out... well she didn't improve and I was told it was most likely NOT lyme disease, and more likely she was fighting an infection. Fighting an infection she was, the higher end of normal of a dog's white blood cell (infection fighters) count, would be a 9. Roxys was at 32, indication there was a SERIOUS infection going on somewhere. They told me to rush her back in for an ultrasound, which confirmed what the vets suspicions were, her uterus was badly infected and enlarged and needed to be removed IMMEDIATELY! So off they whisked my baby into a 2.5 hr surgery, to which her 3LB uterus was removed, it had swollen to 3 times its normal size.
The total cost for the surgery was 2796, but her grandma(mama) was generous enough to help out, and paid for the extensive blood work, ultrasound, and $1000 for the surgery, but understandably so she is tapped out, and I am on a payment plan for the remaining $1796, but was hopeful anyone could help me out, just a little bit. Roxy and I would greatly appreciate it, as the help would let me be home more with her (not working overtime) to help in her recovery.
I apologize for the lengthy read, and thank you for your time.
Funds will 100% go towards Roxys vet bills, and Roxy.
*** Update *** 12/15/25
Had to go back to vets today, as Roxy had some bloody mucus coming from her vagina. They suspect its just what was left from where her uterus was tied off... and prescribed another round of meds to prevent infection... so another loan down... another $280 will be added to this fundraiser to cover her additional meds.
