Hi, my name is Mira and I'm a Year 12 student living in Perth.
When I found out about Rotary Youth Exchange, I jumped at the opportunity and knew it was something I needed to be part of. I worked really hard throughout the application and interview process, from filling out over thirty pages of application forms to attending multiple interviews, all in pursuit of representing my country. I’m incredibly proud (and grateful!) to now be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Karrinyup (karrinyuprotary.org.au) to represent Australia for a year in Germany in 2026.
Rotary’s values of service, cultural understanding, and building connections across communities really resonate with me. I want to grow not just as a student, but as a person, and come back with new perspectives, stories, and skills I can use to give back.
While Rotary covers many essentials, there are still extra costs involved, including the base cost of exchange ($9,000 AUD), day-to-day expenses, and travel. I’d also love to join some of the incredible Rotary-organised activities and tours around Europe, which would be a meaningful way to explore, learn, and meet other exchange students and people from around the world.
The total cost comes to around $18,000 AUD. I’ll be working hard to raise funds to help cover the rest and make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, and any support, big or small, would truly mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey!!!
